PLAZA DEL TORO’s sixth edition of the Dim Sum Tapas dinner series features Mexico City native and award-winning restaurateur Jack Schwartz of San Francisco’s lauded taqueria, Tacobar. Jack will present a menu in the service style of Dim Sum with tapas inspired by Mexican cuisine in collaboration with PLAZA DEL TORO chef Michael Kessler. Guest bartender Owen Young of Mediterranean Exploration Companywill design a specialty cocktail menu to complement the cuisine.

CHEF IN MY GARDEN
Chef in My Garden is a series of extraordinary dinners created by Portland’s top chefs with outstanding Oregon wineries. The dinners are hosted in stunning private gardens, all to benefit the local nonprofit Growing Gardens. Located in the Southwest hills of Portland, the home of Susan Denman will surely delight with its exquisite garden and the historical charm of her home. In this lovely garden, you will enjoy delicious dishes created by Shalom Y'all and Mediterranean Exploration Company Chef Kasey Mills. Growing Gardens uses the experience of growing food in schools, backyards and correctional facilities to cultivate healthy, equitable communities.
PICKATHON CURATION SERIES
Pickathon, Chef Jason French (owner of Ned Ludd), Kelly Cox from The Original Fare, and Travel Portland are collaborating to put together another year of unique food, music, and drink experiences for this year’s Curation Series. Anyone attending Pickathon can buy a ticket to participate, limited to 75 lucky guests per meal. Each Curation event lasts an hour and a half from start to finish. The event starts with appetizers and drinks from our featured bartender. Next, attendees are treated to an intimate performance by the special guest artist followed by an expanded multi-course meal, and ending with hand-selected tunes by one of our DJ’s. The August 5th Sunday Brunch features food from Shalom Y'all and Mediterranean Exploration Company Executive Chef Kasey Mills and music from Orkesta Mendoza.

The Parr Lumber Great Summer Chef Off Presented by the Safeway Foundation celebrates oregon food, wine and microbrews at a summer farm-to-table event benefiting Harrington Family Foundation's Scholarship-Mentorship Program. Chef Off brings together notable Portland chefs for a BBQ cook- off to benefit HFF’s scholarship recipients on a beautiful 7-acre Sauvie Island farm. St. Jack Restaurant & Bar returns to defend its title of reigning champ with the culinary genius of PLAZA DEL TORO chef Michael Kessler, Pearl Tavern, and Park Kitchen. New this year is a mouthwatering ‘dessert-off’ between Pip’s Original Doughnuts and Kyra’s Bake Shop!

Bounty of Yamhill County’s signature event at Sokol Blosser Winery features 20 chefs paired with 20 farmers to create a walk-around feast celebrating summer’s bounty. Sip wines from 25 of Yamhill County’s most prestigious producers, while mingling with the winemakers and chefs. Take home a treasure from a 500+ bottle Wall of Wine! John Gorham and Kasey Mills of Shalom Y'all SE and Mediterranean Exploration Company will bring a wood-fired oven to make fresh pitas!

La Ruta PDX, Chef John Gorham, and Aborígens are happy to announce a new food exploration trip around the hidden corners of Catalan and Spanish cuisines. After a first successful tour of the North of the Peninsula Ibérica in 2017, this time they will head South to get immersed into rural Andalusia and the fishing coast of Cadis, where passionate artisans and their amazing products will be waiting.
